The founder
Alwyn Vintinner started BrandCurb in 2013 after working with small business owners across Toronto who were getting buried under operational work that had nothing to do with what they were actually good at. The restaurant owner answering the same five questions a hundred times a week. The real estate agent manually copying leads between three tools. The trades contractor who lost a $12,000 job because a follow-up fell through the cracks.
The first decade was digital marketing — websites, SEO, paid ads. It helped. But when the AI inflection point arrived in 2022, it became obvious that marketing was never really the leverage point. The leverage was in the hour-by-hour work happening inside the business.
In 2023, BrandCurb went all-in on custom AI development. Not platforms. Not subscriptions. Custom-built tools, wired directly into the software each client already uses, solving the exact workflow costing them the most time each week.
Our story
Alwyn founded BrandCurb in Toronto to help local small businesses get online and grow. The first decade was traditional: websites, SEO, ad campaigns.
After six years with the same clients, the pattern was obvious: marketing could bring leads in, but owners were drowning in admin. Leads going cold. Follow-ups missed. Invoices delayed. No tool was helping them keep up.
Before ChatGPT was a household name, we started quietly wiring together automations for clients: lead routing, appointment sequences, invoice triggers. The time savings shocked everyone, including us.
The LLM breakthrough made custom AI assistants viable for any budget. We pivoted fully — from digital marketing to custom AI development — and rebuilt the entire practice around one question: what's eating your week?
